Maria Fernanda Toledo is a dance artist, teacher and arts manager.
Originally from Brazil, she graduated in Communication and Arts of the Body at PUC Univeristy (São Paulo) and completed an MFA in Choreography at Roehampton University (London).
After performing at Resolution! 2011 she presented her work internationally before working as a residency assistant at Dance4 and performing at Rosemary Lee’s Square Dances. One year later she collaborated with other 40 international artists at Nottingham Castle as part of World Event Young Artists.
Alongside Jan Lee, Mafê runs dance classes under the name of London Dance Improvisation, as well as teaching children in the public and private sectors.
She has also worked in the fields of project management, fundraising, marketing and project evaluation (organisations include British Council, Arts Council of England, Dance4, Jean Abreu Dance, Gandaia Arts, movingartsbase and Mala Cherga Theatre).
Mafê is currently training at the School for Body-Mind Centering to obtain a qualification as a Somatic Movement Educator, apart from working as administrator at The Place in London.
